Starburst Review - ‘The Waterhouse’
The Waterhouse is a slow-burning, haunting film that is reminiscent of several others but ultimately stands on its own feet. Written and directed by Samuel Clemens, the film’s atmosphere builds as it leaves the relatively safe confines of heist thriller and morphs into a phantasmagorical horror tale.

The Hollywood News - The Waterhouse Review
The Waterhouse has great style. The location is beautiful and Clemens makes it feel as though the structure is the last dwelling on Earth. The rest of the world falls away and the focus is entirely on these six characters. There is some superb water photography and a couple of surprising set pieces towards the end. Where The Waterhouse excels however, is within its score and soundtrack.

Eye For Film Review - The Waterhouse
Samuel Clemens’ poetic feature début, which screened as part of Halloween Frightfest 2023, combines elements of Greek tragedy with post-heist thriller and slow burn horror. It’s beautifully shot, with an unusual colour palette which reflects the artwork at its centre, and makes good use of its simple but distinctive location.

Kim Newman’s Review - The Waterhouse
Written and directed by Samuel Clemens, this is an impressionist, elliptical take on the crooks-run-into-a-curse sub-genre – with impressive sound design, strangely cadenced performances and a kind of poetic free-flowing angst in lieu of conventional terrors.
