Susanna Newman

Assistant Producer

Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, Susanna has always been involved in multiple disciplines when it came to art: film, music, theatre and dance.

Having moved to the United Kingdom at 15, she found the first being her biggest passion and started working up her portfolio: she completed her first film projects during her last year of school, while also developing her technical knowledge of the process, focusing on cinematography, editing and sound.

In 2022, she graduated from the London Film Academy with a BA in Filmmaking. During the course she directed two short films and two commercials, and produced another short film. Since leaving film school,. she has successfully produced the short film L’Hypermnesique, starring Agathe Natanson and Bernard Farcy. She has also gained her first professional credits, including 2nd AD and production assistant credits on Take The Shot Films’ The Waterhouse.

When it comes to telling stories, she takes inspiration from all forms of art, combining her experiences with the goal of creating impactful and personal cinematic narratives. She learns and looks up to filmmakers from all ages, movements and styles, her bigger influences being directors such as Wes Anderson, Jean Renoir, Billy Wilder, Federico Fellini and Georgy Danelia.
